Hi, I am Chivorn Var, Executive Director of RHA Cambodia. I have been briefed about the IPPF ** for participating in the IPPF executive directors meeting and the regional council meeting. I understand the importance of involvement of each member of IPPF, whether it is staff or a volunteer. I am happy with the level of openness to the issue by the Reform Commission members, who laid out the process of involvement and participation.
I agree that we need to reform, and the current IPPF governing structure and the way IPPF has done its business was crafted many decades ago and the ball has changed a lot since then. The response to the new challenges and the more competitive environment of today, we altogether need to find a more responsive governing body and a new transparent and responsive way for the source and location and ****.
I am happy to have read the Reform Commission reports and to see the inclusions of all the important elements and characteristics of an effective governing body; and I believe that, with the appropriate size of the board, matched, experienced and skilled members, guarding against the potential conflict of interest. The right composition of the board, among other elements, the proposed elements would be effective and responsive to the current needs of IPPF and I look forward to discussing more on how to ensure geographical diversity and the presentation from at risk, and vulnerable populations.
The Reform Commission has done their best in proposing the mixed method for resourcing the location, the formulas and the proposal-based location.
I look forward to discussing more about the unmet SOHI needs and the performance criteria. Thank you.
