Dear Chair Greer and Chair Sinding,

On behalf of the International Planned Parenthood Federation – Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/ WHR), I want to thank you for leading the IPPF’s Independent Governance Reform Commission (IGRC) and the Independent resource Allocation Commission (IRAC).

We share a common mission to support reform efforts that will help our organizations modernize and better meet the needs of those we serve.

As you may know, last May, IPPF/WHR established two task forces. As the Chair of the Regional Board of Directors, I am proud to have joined a working group of more than twenty stakeholders to assess our current structure and recommend a series of reforms that will ensure IPPF/WHR is
a modern, agile and efficient organization. I hope that this report serves as an important input for the global commissions and helps create synergies between our process and the global process.

Throughout the Summer and Fall we ran an inclusive, transparent carefully crafted process to co-create a new organizational design, by establishing consensus, and building a collective thinking.

We recently finalized our recommendations which will help make IPPF/WHR a more sustainable and effective organization, ready to meet the challenges of today – and tomorrow. We are confident our analysis and recommendations may be both informative and constructive to you as part of the global reform process.

Enclosed you will find an abridged version of our final report. The full report is also available to you. Please do share with the rest of the commissioners.

I hope to find a mutually agreeable time in the coming days to brief you on our process, findings, recommendations and answer any questions you may have.
